Why is the Government always two steps behind???

Hey there kids,

I was reading my usual blog and came across National Security Adviser General James Jones stumble mumble about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Man it was painful to read, can’t imagine how painful it must have been to actually sit thru the whole interview.

“It has to be a uniform policy for all members of the military in order to function as a military has to function. We will have long discussions about this. It will be thoughtful. It will be deliberative. The president I know will reach out to fully understand both sides or all sides of the issue before he makes a decision. I don’t know [if it will be overturned]. We’ll have to – the president has said that he is in favor of that. We’ll just wait – we’ll have to wait and see – as a result of the deliberations and as a result of the – in the months and weeks ahead. We have a lot on our plate right now. It has to be teed up at the right time so – to do this the right way.”

No wonder the Military can’t make a concerted effort to finish anything if this is the kind of leaders they have had. Can’t form a single, non-stuttered coherent thought. If this is who is making the call to go forward or not, maybe President Obama is better off sticking his head back in the sand. In my opinion on the subject anyway.

It seems to me that this person is more concerned with keeping the status quo than allowing gay men and women to serve their country openly and honestly. I truly wish that people like this would all gather together in one place so we can round them up and ship them all off to some forgotten island where their narrow-minds can’t influence the workings of the civilized world.
