Since I am one of those "former employees" at the Brass Rail, it would be helpful to cite your source saying that I'm going to be rotting in the Unemployment Line longer than I had expected.

Throwing gossip-slop out to the masses is nothing but lazy blogging.

Since I have two boxes full of the Brass Rail's financials in the trunk of my car, as I type this message, as well as the original Quick Books files attached in my Yahoo emailbox, it would be interesting to know why I shouldn't invite those former Brass Rail employees over to my place for a campfire an S'mores sammies.

The latest from my gossip chain was that the Brass Rail was under a Federal Audit, and the current and previous owners are chewing fingernails because they're missing those financials.

And Finally -- Since there's been a meeting called tomorrow at the 90's at 8:00PM between the newly appointed Brass Rail manager, the owners and four of the former employees from the Brass Rail (that includes me) - anything you've got to throw in on this conversation would be mightely helpful!

I think you're wrong, by the way. If there's no interest between the current management and the previous staff - then they're meeting and and having a lively dialog with us would be a waste of their time. I'll admit, I hope you're wrong - but the tea-leaves in the bottoms of our cups just don't show the current management/owners of the Brass Rail giving us the proverbial finger.

I also think you're wrong in the supposition that the 'Rail will open before Pride. This story, (again..isn't cited in your blog) was originally published in the Star Tribune in their Entertainment Section about a month ago. The original calendar published stated that the 'Rail would be open before Pride. It isn't going to happen - Have you been by the 'Rail recently?

Find me a building-permit on the window to signal any remodeling going on inside.

Hint: If the building is listed on the National Historic Register, and the bar hasn't closed in forty-odd years, there's a great deal of infrastructure work that needs to be accomplished to bring the facility up to current city code. The bar had severe plumbing problems, (including the back-bar in the rear with only two drains working and one functioning tap) and missing sinks in the front bar. I won't even bother listing the electrical issues. Since we're now less than five weeks before Pride - it's highly doubtful the bar opens before Pride...and with Building Permits still not posted - It's extremely doubtful!
